Mass arrest police torture and Sheikh Hasina

 Congratulations to Sheikh Hasina, but…!

Human Rights Today report: We feel very happy and proud. Because our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was deliberated her speech in Bengali in the General Assembly of United Nations in New York in USA. We want to say congratulations and giving thanks Sheikh Hasina for her speech in UN meeting with Bengali language.
World knows that, Father of the Nation Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman did the same 35 years back in UN General Assembly. We strongly want and our demand and hope that, UN should immediately declare that Bengali would be an another official language. Because Bangalee nation was did great sacrifice for their mother language Bengali.
But, our question about human rights, rule of law and democracy. Actually in Bangladesh human rights situation is not good now. Every day citizens are killings by the state in the name of crossfire, encounter or gunfight. Already 93 peoples were killed extra judicially in her government time from 7th January to 26th September, 2009. Many BDR members were died by torture in the custody. Journalists repression also common matter. Minority torture hasn’t stop yet.
In the name of democracy have in Bangladesh. But actually in practice democracy has not visible here. Almost all the institutions are disabled. If government does obey to the constitution, rule of law, Universal Declaration of human rights then they couldn’t continuing to extra judicial killings. 27.9.2009

Mass arrest

RAB and police running a for control the deteriorating law and order situation of the country. Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun said, government wants to control law and order situation. Sources said, after taking a decision by the government RAB-police has started comb operation against terrorism for control the law and order situation.
But, the local human rights activists says, mass arrest is a gross human rights violation. When the Prime Minister Sheikh giving her speech in UN general assembly about uphold the human rights and rule of law then in Bangladesh is going on mass arrest. Really government maybe taken dual role. One for Bangladesh and another for international community.
Many arrest people are very innocent, says the members of some victims family. They said, no case against them.
We want to say to government, please stop mass arrest and protect human rights, rule of law and should immediately start trial against war criminals. 26.9.2009.
